Studio Hena is an architecture studio in Bad Tölz specialising in building with natural materials.

Starting point
The starting point
Studio Hena is an architecture studio creating homes from natural materials – timber, clay and, ideally, existing buildings. It was founded by architect Julia Bauer after years in the profession. Together with a network of specialists, Studio Hena takes building projects from the first conversation to the final detail.
The name comes from Bavarian dialect: “Hena” means hen. It’s about nesting, about feeling at home. So the name and the values were already there. What was missing were the answers to these questions:
What does Studio Hena stand for, and what sets it apart from other architecture firms?
How do we talk about sustainable building without slipping into clichés?
And what does a studio that builds with natural materials look like?
From the ground up
How did we go about it?
Positioning first, then design. That way we knew exactly what the design had to deliver.
01 Compass Session
First, we worked out together where Studio Hena stands, where it wants to go and what it needs first.
02 Positioning workshops I + II
In two workshops we pinned down Studio Hena’s place in the market. What does the studio stand for, who is it for, and how does it talk about its work? The result is a clear voice that shows how sustainably Studio Hena builds – without constantly saying so.
03 Logo & corporate design
We carefully refined the existing logo and gave it cleaner lines. We also defined typefaces and colours – everything a coherent visual identity needs.
04 Website
We designed and built the website ourselves: calm, warm and with plenty of space for the projects.

Outcome
What happened?
Studio Hena is up and running. The studio trades under its own name with a clear profile and has already won its first commissions in recent months. The new website has just gone live, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
