I’m a bit shy on the internet. I just googled myself to figure out what I’ve actually done—for a CV.
I’ve had over 20 exhibitions in my life. Most of them during my studies, sure, but still, they should be documented somewhere.
I’ve received a few scholarships, worked with many wonderful people, and always assumed Google would give me the answers I need.
Disappointingly, all Google found was the usual: Creative Director blah blah.
No awards, no scholarships, no publications.
Shame.
But what it did find was another Max Hanisch (without the umlaut over the “ä”), who, as an artist, has had a whole series of exhibitions.
And frustratingly, he documented his life online very well.
My first instinct: polish everything. Create a top-notch LinkedIn profile and squeeze every tiny group show into a glossy portfolio.
Predictably—I don’t actually want to do that.
