Klimafrühling
From 4 contributors to almost 50 events: we support a climate format that has grown from Eching to the whole district.
The Klimafrühling (Climate Spring) is an annual series of events on climate and the environment, run by Eching’s climate protection team and vhs Eching, and now held across the whole district of Freising. We’ve supported it from day one: concept, communication strategy, design, registration platform and project management.

How do you make climate change visible?
The starting point
Climate action happens locally – but who hears about it? The climate protection team at the municipality of Eching and vhs Eching wanted to make climate change tangible for people in the region and show just how many inspiring projects were already under way. That took more than a flyer. They came to us with these questions:
How do we reach people who aren’t (yet) thinking about climate?
How do we bring many initiatives under one roof?
And how do we turn it into something that comes back every year?
Approach
How we went about it together
We’ve been part of the Klimafrühling from the very beginning – from the first workshop to the fourth edition
01 Workshops & concept
In several workshops we developed the concept together: who is the Klimafrühling for, what should it achieve, and how do we keep it manageable?
02 Communication strategy
We planned the communication and delivered parts of it ourselves, so the ideas didn’t just gather dust.
03 Design
We designed the entire visual identity. Each year brings a new variation – recognisable, yet fresh.
04 Infrastructure & project management
We built a platform for event organisers to sign up and shared the project management. That kept us closely involved in the planning and, over the years, made us a sparring partner for the whole team.
05 wir und morgen
To help the Klimafrühling grow beyond Eching, we co-founded the initiative “wir und morgen” (“us and tomorrow”) with the two organisers. That allowed the format to expand beyond the municipality – across the whole district of Freising.

Outcome
What happened?
In the first year, 4 organisations took part. By 2026 there were almost 50 events – from clubs, parishes, schools and colleges, the ADFC cycling club, Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences and local initiatives. An idea from Eching has become a format for the whole district of Freising.
Its reach has grown too – without any paid advertising. While the programme runs, the Klimafrühling reaches many times its original audience on Instagram every month, and the website brings in a steady stream of enquiries and sign-ups year after year. Anyone looking for climate events in the region finds the Klimafrühling.
The credit goes to the many people who take part and to the team in Eching who make the Klimafrühling happen every year. We’re glad to have been there from the start.

Testimonial
“For the Klimafrühling, by fair means was far more than a design agency. Stephanie and Max helped build the project from day one, shaped its concept and kept bringing fresh ideas. They were always there for us, responded incredibly quickly even at short notice and put far more time and energy into the project than we’d agreed. The Klimafrühling’s themes matter to them personally, and they bring real expertise. That mix of creativity, know-how and exceptional commitment is what makes working with them so valuable to us.”
Daniela Kirschstein, Managing Director, vhs*eching & initiator of Klimafrühling Eching und Freisinger Land
